SolDevelo visited Eschborn, near Frankfurt, to meet with SwissTPH, GIZ, and The World Bank professionals, and discuss plans for the second phase of the openIMIS & CORE-MIS integration that we are currently working on. We took part in workshops, exchanged our perspectives, and worked out the course of actions for the upcoming months.

openIMIS & CORE-MIS integration

The project’s goal is to combine the functionality of two separate open-source solutions – openIMIS, financed by Germany and Switzerland, and coordinated by GIZ, and CORE-MIS, governed by The World Bank.

The freshly developed software suite is designed to function as a digital public good, overseeing a range of schemes including health insurance, employment injury insurance, voucher schemes, cash transfers, and economic inclusion programs.

As mentioned in our previous articles, SolDevelo took charge of the first phase of the openIMIS & CORE-MIS integration, and successfully delivered the desired outcome. The second phase continues under our custody.

Workshops in Eschborn

Our delegation lasted for a couple of days, and was fully packed with exciting and insightful activities. The workshops were kicked off by reviewing the results achieved in the first phase of the project, and summarizing things that still needed to be worked on and implemented. We updated our priorities, and discussed our next steps.

Among the topics discussed there were requirements regarding Individuals and Groups, Tasks Management, Benefit Plan, Payments, and more. We also explored our options when it comes to the GRM (Grievance Redress Mechanism) module integration, with the focus on social protection. Together, we worked out a deeper understanding of the planned updates and improvements.

We set our priorities for the upcoming months as well as the main goals of the next release:

• Implementation of a new flow that would support creating Payrolls,
• Implementation of a simple Individuals targeting feature.

It was a greatly informative couple of days, and we arrived at many needed conclusions. Working with other experienced professionals is always mind-broadening, and helps to get multiple perspectives included in the planning processes. We are happy we had an opportunity to meet with our partners in person and work together to deliver a solution of the highest quality that will serve many people around the world.

Memories from delegation

After wrapping up the workshops, we had some time off, and we used it to explore! We went sightseeing in the area of Frankfurt old town, and enjoyed an abundance of stunning sights, before coming back home.
